Unlocking Wisdom with The Three Principles

Unlocking our wisdom with the three principles

Stress and overwhelm can leave us feeling confused, stuck, and unsure of what to pay attention to. If you’ve ever felt like you’re spiraling with no clear direction, you’re not alone. I often get asked how to navigate these feelings, and it’s something I’ve worked on personally over the years.

By exploring The Three Principles - a transformative understanding of how our minds work - I’ve gained clarity and peace. One of the most powerful aspects of this journey is realising that we all have innate well-being, wisdom, and the ability to make the right choices for ourselves.

The Power of Wisdom in Stressful Times

Syd Banks, the founder of The Three Principles, said:

“In every area of life, everyone is capable of seeing from a higher perspective than they do now. You are never stuck. You're simply limited by the level you are seeing from. Limitation is always illusion. Just wait. Relax. Stay still. Wait until the wisdom talks to you, as it will.”

This quote resonates deeply with me. When you’re caught in the whirlwind of stress, it’s easy to feel trapped. But understanding the nature of wisdom can be a game-changer.

What Is Wisdom?

Through my own journey, I’ve learned these fundamental truths about wisdom:

  • Wisdom is never confused.
  • Wisdom never wavers.
  • It always guides us, no matter what.
  • It doesn’t judge.
  • It never loses patience, even when we lose sight of it.

Recognising these truths helped me see stress and overwhelm differently.

What Overwhelm Is Really Telling You

When my mind feels busy, confused, or overwhelmed, I’ve come to see these as signals. They remind me:

  1. I’m stuck in my intellect and ego.
    Wisdom doesn’t reside there.

  2. I’m trying to think my way to well-being.
That’s impossible. True peace isn’t a thought; it’s a feeling that arises naturally.

  3. I’m solving an illusory problem.
Stress often comes from misunderstanding our thoughts, not real external issues.

These moments are reminders to get present. When I do, the answers and calmness within me always show the way.

The Inside-Out Nature of Life

We experience everything from the inside out. This means our feelings of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm aren’t caused by the outside world but by our thinking in the moment. The beauty of this understanding is realising that our wisdom and innate well-being reside within us. It’s a limitless, resilient space - a place of calm no matter what’s happening around us.

Are we overcomplicating mental health?

The continuous spiral of talking about mental illness and neglecting to discuss mental health that’s within us all!

Finding herself in a mental hospital for a month aged 22, her worst fears of going crazy had come true! Sarie truly believed she was broken for many years, and now sees that this was in part due to massively over complicating what it meant be a human being. After a long period of exploring and training as a psychotherapist, still burning out every 18 months for another ten years, Sarie finally found the answer, and now shares the surprising simplicity of it all to help others get the same relief.

Sarie has trained as a transactional analysis psychotherapist, as well as working and training in many other therapeutic disciplines, such as NLP, CBT, DBT and hypnotherapy. Sarie is also an author, celebrity coach and therapist, working with thousands of people a year, of all ages, all over the world. Her main aim is to help them really see the simplicity and beauty behind human nature, getting out of their heads and into their lives, being able to see that the inside out nature of life really is a gift. This removes limitations and stories they may hold about themselves, and as a result finding an ease and contentment in life they often never knew was possible.
