You're Not Broken, You're a Miracle

you're not broken you're a miracle blog

If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, "Why am I like this? Why can’t I just be normal? Why can’t I cope like everyone else?"  - then please keep reading.

Because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to feel like the only one who can’t hold it all together.

But here’s what I want you to hear with every cell of your being:

You are not broken. In fact, you are a 1-in-400-trillion miracle. And when we begin to understand how our mind works - and stop believing every self-critical thought - we start to feel that truth again.

The Shrinking Effect of Anxiety

When we’re overwhelmed or anxious, our world tends to shrink. We isolate ourselves. We stop doing things that feel too much. We judge ourselves for every little thing. Our perspective gets smaller and smaller until all we can see is the problem.

I’ve been in that place, hiding under the covers, wondering if I’d ever feel like myself again.

But here’s what I now know: anxiety doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It just means your thinking has become loud and fast and fearful. And even in the thick of that, your resilience is still intact. Your wellbeing is still there.

You Don’t Need to Earn Peace

I used to think I had to earn the right to feel calm. That I had to fix everything first - the anxious thoughts, the physical symptoms, the people-pleasing, the guilt, the overthinking. Then maybe I’d feel okay.

But the truth is, peace of mind isn’t a reward. It’s our default. It’s available any time we stop fighting ourselves and come back to the present.

You can’t think your way into calm. You remember your way back.

Love Over Judgment

Every time I experienced intense anxiety, there was a familiar companion right there beside it: self-loathing.

It’s amazing how cruel we can be to ourselves when we’re struggling, isn’t it? The voice that says:

"You should be better than this." "Other people cope. What’s wrong with you?" "Get it together."

That voice is not truth.
That voice is not love.
And it definitely doesn’t speak for the part of you that knows how incredible you are.

That loving, wise part of you is always there. And it has a completely different tone. It says:

"You’re safe." "It’s okay to feel this." "Let’s take this moment by moment."

A Perspective Shift That Changes Everything

Here’s something that blew my mind (and might blow yours): the odds of you being here, exactly as you are, are 1 in 400 trillion.

Let that sink in. One. In. 400. Trillion.

I read this fact years ago, and it made me emotional. I suddenly saw myself - not as a broken, anxious mess - but as this completely improbable, miraculous existence. You. Me. All of us.

And yet we judge ourselves because we had a wobbly morning. Because we need more rest. Because we can’t do it all today.

If you were a 1-in-400-trillion turtle that surfaced exactly through a rubber ring in the ocean, the world would protect you, celebrate you, and call you a miracle.

But YOU are just as miraculous. And you deserve the same level of love and care - from yourself.

You're Already Whole

We live in a world that tells us to strive, fix, improve, hustle, compete.

But what if we don’t need to do any of that to feel better?

What if the answer isn’t in doing more… but in seeing differently?

What if you could remember that you are already whole? Already equipped. Already okay.

Because you are.

This blog is based on the third and final video in my free 3-part series on reducing anxiety and overwhelm. It’s a gentle reminder that you don’t need to change who you are to feel better.

Let this be the moment you stop judging yourself for how you feel. And start seeing the miracle that you are.

Are we overcomplicating mental health?

The continuous spiral of talking about mental illness and neglecting to discuss mental health that’s within us all!

Finding herself in a mental hospital for a month aged 22, her worst fears of going crazy had come true! Sarie truly believed she was broken for many years, and now sees that this was in part due to massively over complicating what it meant be a human being. After a long period of exploring and training as a psychotherapist, still burning out every 18 months for another ten years, Sarie finally found the answer, and now shares the surprising simplicity of it all to help others get the same relief.

Sarie has trained as a transactional analysis psychotherapist, as well as working and training in many other therapeutic disciplines, such as NLP, CBT, DBT and hypnotherapy. Sarie is also an author, celebrity coach and therapist, working with thousands of people a year, of all ages, all over the world. Her main aim is to help them really see the simplicity and beauty behind human nature, getting out of their heads and into their lives, being able to see that the inside out nature of life really is a gift. This removes limitations and stories they may hold about themselves, and as a result finding an ease and contentment in life they often never knew was possible.
